Firoicet is a combination of tylenol, caffeine and a very mild sedative. I’m guessing that your migraines have a stress trigger if that’s the med that works best for you. My husband has been on it. During the day when the puppy and kids are napping do not clean the house or call a friend! Instead lay down and do some deep breathing in the quiet. Research various relaxation techniques and try a few. Look up some neck stretches as well to keep the neck muscles looser which may help cut off the migraine before it takes hold. Also, next time your at the dentist have him check your TM joint and your teeth alignment – many people forget that a crooked jaw throws the whole neck/head off. Some old fashion ways are to wear a headband around your temple area , hot/cold jel eye mask , sit and breath and close your eyes and sorta drift off in your own world, this always helps any pains I have that occur ..you can take 2 advil upon doing any of these things, sometimes advil doesn’t help the pain , so take 2 ..relax ,bath or wind down ,apply a headband or eye mask, breath and close your eyes.

Drink lots of water when an attack happens and I mean lots of water. 3-5 glasses at least!! You may end up visiting a little room in your house quite a lot but it might be still worth it!! One homeopathic medicine called Head-on for migraine (in the green box) works wonders for me! it should not interact with your current medication! When you can, stop at a gas station and get some hot chocolate if you have no sugar related illness, it is more effective than homemade hot chocolate!

Certainly stress adds to the cause and frequency of migraines and I know you are looking for something to get you through the 3 weeks until you can see the doctor but it is worth taking an overall look at your life. Try to find ways to reduce your stress or when you are stressed find something that you can look forward to as a reward to help you get through stressful times like a long soak in a bath with a glass of wine. I use aroma therapy and have several scents that I use when I think a headache is coming. I keep little vials of them in a cute little case in my purse.
